There is no greater gift you can give to yourself or the world than really, truly being yourself. http://ruoxiangchau.com
You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

There was nothing wrong about you. You didn't attract the wrong guys. You lived the love stories that you needed to live, to learn to love yourself more. You learnt that there was more waiting for you, even if you didn't believe so at the time. You learnt that you didn't have to settle for less than you deserve. We don't leave people because we don't love them anymore. We leave them because staying together becomes too painful. We realise that we have outgrown the relationship. In the end, we simply learn to love ourselves more. Life will give you many opportunities to love and love even more. Simply, because you can.

Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.
